Our small family group (2 adults and 2 teenagers) had an AMAZING time with Dolomite Active. Our trip in the Dolomites is one of most memorable active family holidays!! 😁 We chose a multisport 7 day tour and experienced so many beautiful places, including Marmolada and Lake Garda. Our tour guides were all very professional, knowledgeable, but also kind, fun and customer oriented. They even arranged a hike instead of a via ferrata on one of the days. We really appreciate the personal service and can't wait to come back!! Thank you Dolomite Active team!!! 😁

Tour Itinerary
Welcome to the Dolomites. Settle into your 4-star hotel in Alta Badia, nestled in the heart of the Ladin valleys. Take the afternoon to explore the charming village, enjoy the crisp mountain air, and savor a welcome dinner featuring regional specialties.
Rest well – tomorrow, you will meet your private guide, and the adventure begins!
Ladin people are descendants of ancient Alpine tribes who have preserved their unique Rhaeto-Romance language and culture for over a thousand years, mainly through isolation in these mountain valleys. Today, their influence is everywhere – from the melodic language you’ll hear in villages to the traditional cuisine served in mountain huts born from centuries of Alpine farming life.
Accommodation: 4-star hotel in Alta Badia

After breakfast, meet your guide and head onto the slopes of Alta Badia. With 130 kilometers of perfectly groomed terrain stretching beneath the pale dolomite towers, today is about finding your rhythm and experiencing why this area is beloved by skiers worldwide.
Your guide can tailor the day to your group’s ability, perhaps starting on Piz La Ila’s wide cruisers before progressing to more challenging terrain. If you’re up to it, tackle the legendary Gran Risa – the steep, technical World Cup slope where champions are made. Since its 1985 World Cup debut, the Gran Risa has seen victories from Alberto Tomba (4 wins), Marcel Hirscher (6 wins), Bode Miller, and Ted Ligety – a true hall of fame of alpine skiing.
Your guide knows the best mountain huts for lunch. Perhaps it’s Club Moritzino at 2,100 meters, or Ütia Bioch Piz Sorega with Europe’s highest wine cellar, where Michelin-level dishes meet traditional Ladin recipes.
The afternoon continues exploring hidden runs and quieter corners of the ski area that only locals know. By day’s end, you’ll understand why Alta Badia is considered one of the finest ski destinations in Europe.
Accommodation: 4-star hotel in Alta Badia

This morning, a private transfer delivers you to Plan de Corones (Kronplatz), one of South Tyrol’s most celebrated ski areas. Rising to 2,275 meters, Kronplatz offers something Alta Badia doesn’t: wide-open, treeless slopes with 360-degree panoramic views stretching from the Austrian Alps to the north, the Dolomites to the south, and the Zillertal Alps to the east.
Your guide leads you onto Kronplatz’s signature runs – long, confidence-building cruisers perfect for carving. The skiing here feels different: expansive, exhilarating, freeing. We’ll explore the best of Kronplatz’s 119 kilometers of terrain, perhaps including a run down one of the famous “Black Five” challenging slopes, if the group is game.
At the summit sits the Messner Mountain Museum Corones, designed by Zaha Hadid and embedded into the mountain. Known for its viewing windows strategically framing the peaks from Reinhold Messner’s mountaineering career. I you can spare some time off your skis, then pass a little time here.
The summit is a great spot to take lunch, surrounded by cutting-edge architecture and alpine history.
Ski out the rest of the day before returning to Alta Badia by private transfer, where another evening of comfort and cuisine awaits.
Accommodation: 4-star hotel in Alta Badia

Today brings one of the week’s highlights: the Marmolada, known as the Queen of the Dolomites. Ski from Alta Badia through Arabba, warming up on some more challenging runs before reaching the first of three cable cars starting at 1450m.
In minutes, you ascend to 3,265 meters – the summit of Punta Rocca on the Marmolada Glacier. Step out onto the viewing platform and the entire Dolomites unfold: the Catinaccio, Sassolungo, and the Sella.
Now comes the main event: La Bellunese, the legendary 12-kilometer descent down the glacier. La Bellunese is not only the longest ski run in the Dolomites, offering a total of 1800m of vertical drop, but is also the highest skiable point in the range. Your guide will set the pace, leading you down this iconic run through snow-covered glacier terrain, past icy seracs, and into the valley below.
You can choose to do it again and again, if time and energy allow – there’s something addictive about skiing from 3,000 meters!
Lunch is at one of the glacier-side rifugios, where the views are as satisfying as the food.
When the day is done, a private transfer brings you to Val Gardena, where your next hotel awaits. Tonight, you’ll dine in a different valley, experiencing the subtle shifts in Ladin culture and cuisine.
Accommodation: 4-star hotel in Val Gardena

Your first morning in Val Gardena begins right on the slopes. Today, your guide will introduce you to the Val Gardena Ronda, a scenic circuit that winds through the villages of Selva, Santa Cristina, and Ortisei. The skiing here is beautifully varied – wide groomers, tree-lined descents, and dramatic views of the Sassolungo and Odle mountain ranges.
Next, you might explore the slopes beneath Seceda, where the exposed rock faces create one of the Dolomites’ most photographed backdrops. Your guide will read the group’s energy and interests, crafting the rest of the day around what excites you most.
We suggest stopping for lunch slopeside, at a traditional Ladin rifugio, where you’ll taste local specialties – perhaps cajincí ravioli, barley soup with smoked bacon, or tutres (fried pastries stuffed with spinach).
The afternoon continues exploring hidden gems that only a local knows and can find so easily.
By evening, you’ll return to your Val Gardena hotel, ready for another night of mountain hospitality.
Accommodation: 4-star hotel in Val Gardena

The final day of skiing brings the tour to its grand finale: a section of the world-famous Sellaronda. This 40-kilometer circuit loops around the Sella Massif, connecting four valleys and four mountain passes in one continuous ski day.
Your guide will lead you through either the clockwise (orange route) or counterclockwise (green route) direction, depending on conditions and crowds. We’ll ski from Val Gardena through the Passo Gardena, descend into Corvara in Alta Badia, climb to the Passo Campolongo, drop into Arabba, ascend the Passo Pordoi, and finally circle back via the Passo Sella.
Along the way, your guide will point out the best photo stops, suggest a memorable lunch stop, and share stories of the Ladin people and their homeland. The Sellaronda is more than just a ski circuit – it’s a journey through culture, history, and some of the most breathtaking mountain scenery on earth.
By afternoon, we complete the loop back in Val Gardena. Tonight’s farewell dinner is a celebration – five days of incredible skiing, breathtaking scenery, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Accommodation: 4-star hotel in Val Gardena

After breakfast, it’s time to say arrivederci to the Dolomites. Depart when you are ready, taking with you the satisfaction of having skied four of the Alps’ most legendary areas, guided every step of the way by a true mountain expert.
Until we meet again…next winter!

View TourThis tour is designed for intermediate skiers comfortable on red (medium) runs. More experienced skiers will be able to take advantage of a huge amount of challenging terrain and runs. You should be able to ski confidently in varied conditions and handle longer descents. Your private guide will adapt routes and pace to suit your group’s ability while ensuring everyone has a fantastic experience.
Your private guide transforms this from a good ski vacation into an unforgettable journey. They know the best slopes for current conditions, can access off-piste terrain when safe, reserve tables at the finest mountain huts, share local knowledge and stories, and handle all timing and logistics so you simply focus on skiing.
Absolutely. All transfers and terrain work perfectly for snowboarders. If you are all snowboarders, your guide can tailor route choices to suit boarding preferences.
We suggest snowboarders have an advanced level in order to face slopes at a good speed comparable to intermediate skiers.
Let us know upon booking if your group is all snowboarders, so we can attempt to allocate a snowboarder mountain guide (there are fewer, so it will be pending availability).
Usually, guests are able to complete the whole Sellaronda. If not, our 24/7 support service can assist by arranging a taxi back to your hotel from any of the main towns on the circuit.
Half board includes breakfast and dinner daily. Breakfasts are typically continental style with bread, pastries, cereals, cold cuts, cheese, and coffee. Dinners are multi-course meals featuring regional specialties – Ladin dishes, South Tyrolean cuisine, and Italian classics.
Yes, 3rd party insurance for all users of Alpine ski slopes is compulsory in Italy. You must have valid liability insurance that covers skiing.
This insurance is required to cover your civil liability for damages or injuries you accidentally cause to a third party or their property while skiing or snowboarding on the slopes.
Every person (skiers, snowboarders, telemarkers, and tobogganers) who uses the alpine slopes must have this insurance, regardless of age.
You can be fined and have your ski pass confiscated if found to be without insurance.
Important Note: It Only Covers the Other Person!
Remember that the compulsory Third-Party Liability insurance only covers the damages or injuries you accidentally cause to other people or their property.
For your own peace of mind and financial protection, you should always ensure you have a separate, comprehensive Winter Sports Travel Insurance policy that covers:
Your own medical expenses (which can be very high).
Mountain rescue and repatriation costs (including helicopter rescue).
Loss or theft of equipment (skis, board, etc.).
Check Your Existing Travel Insurance
The most convenient way is to check your existing travel or winter sports policy. Confirm you have “Personal Liability” or “Third-Party Liability” coverage, and that the policy explicitly covers winter sports activities (skiing/snowboarding).
Always carry proof of your insurance with you on the slopes (a digital PDF on your phone or a small printed card) in case the ski patrol requests it. The proof should ideally state the type of coverage and the policy number.
OR
Request to purchase insurance with your ski pass when booking your trip.
The price is typically from €3.00 to €5.00 per person, per day.
OR
Buy a standalone Italian ski policy
If you don’t have existing travel insurance or your current policy doesn’t cover winter sports liability, you can buy a dedicated policy online before or during your trip.
Reputable options often offered by resorts include:
ITASNOW – Site available in EN, DE, and IT
Snowcare – Website is only available in IT

The nearest major airports are Verona (approximately 2.5 hours), Milan (approximately 3.5 hours), and Innsbruck (approximately 2 hours). Alta Badia is also accessible by train to Bolzano or Brunico, followed by bus or taxi. Private transfers can be arranged as an optional extra.
This is a private guided tour, meaning it’s exclusively for your party – whether that’s a couple, family, or group of friends. The guide is yours alone, allowing for a fully personalized experience.
We recommend a maximum of 6 for safety and an optimal experience; however, larger groups can be catered to on request, where additional guides may be allocated.
What To Expect
Picture yourself standing at the top of the Gran Risa, your private guide beside you, the morning sun illuminating the pale towers of the Sella Group. Below lies one of the most technically demanding slopes in the World Cup circuit. Your guide turns to you with a knowing smile. “Ready?”
(…Of course, he/she can suggest a more suitable option should you wish).
This is the Dolomites Iconic 4: a private guided ski safari through four of the Italian Alps’ most celebrated ski areas. Over five days of skiing, your expert guide will lead you from the gourmet slopes of Alta Badia to the glacier-topped heights of Marmolada, revealing the hidden gems, best snow, and finest mountain huts that only a local knows.
Alta Badia opens your journey with 130 kilometers of sun-drenched slopes and a culinary tradition unlike anywhere else in the Alps. Alta Badia is home to a unique “Gourmet Skisafari” initiative where Michelin-starred chefs collaborate with traditional mountain huts to create signature dishes served slopeside – the highest expression of Ladin culinary culture meeting modern gastronomy. Your guide knows exactly which rifugio serves the best cajincí (Ladin ravioli) and where to find the most spectacular views.
From there, you’ll transfer to Kronplatz, where wide, perfectly groomed cruisers stretch beneath the peaks of four countries. The dramatic Marmolada Glacier follows – Italy’s highest ski area and the stage for one of Europe’s longest continuous descents. Finally, Val Gardena welcomes you with its legendary Saslong downhill and access to the Sellaronda, the circular ski tour that winds around the Sella Massif through four Ladin valleys.
Your guide handles every detail: route selection, timing, mountain hut reservations, and local insights you simply can’t get from a map. All you do is ski, savor, and soak in the Dolomites at their finest. Each evening, you’ll return to your 4-star hotel, where delicious Italian cuisine and a comfortable bed await. This is ski safari at its most seamless!

Amazing!!
What a trip! From day one, everything ran so smoothly that we could just relax and enjoy ourselves. The guides were absolute pros and always thinking ahead so the group got the most out of each day. We had so many “wow” moments where you just have to stop and soak it all in. Great food, welcoming hotels, and a perfect balance of adventure and relax time. If you’re looking for a trip that’s easy, fun, and unforgettable, then I have no problem recommending Dolomites Active Tours.
Excellent organization! Everything was very well organised and we didn't have to think about a thing. We did the multisport (hiking, cycling and ferrata) over 7 days. There was a good mix of activity and downtime and we ate lots of delicious mountain foods. Hotels were very good, especially the smaller family run places. The mountain bikes and via ferrata equipment was all top notch. The guides were very professional. I highly recommend Dolomites Active Tours.
We have hiked a lot this last 3-4 years, but our memories of the Dolomites are the most special. We chose a self guided hiking trip in the Brenta Dolomites. The full nine day tour seemed too long, but we were able to modify our trip to a shorter 7 day version. Thanks to the team at Dolomites Active for helping with all our questions. We were given everything, including detailed route guidance and maps - it made the trip very stress free. As for the huts we stayed in 4 different places. Waking up each day to a different view and every evening we ate delicious local foods, washed down with Italian wine! The shared bedrooms and bathrooms are not so bad... I can only say it is by far better than camping! The Dolomites was so beautiful, we are desperate to go back, we hope it will be soon.
Justin has been so helpful in planning our Dolomites hiking tour, he was always there answering to all my questions, was nice to face time each other and talk about the tour rather than just over emails. I would definitely book future tour with Justin only, extremely the best customer service.
